It has been posted here many times before but we finally got to The Park Restaurant in San Luis Obispo last night and had a fabulous meal. We shared 3 appetizers and each had entres. One of the best items was a grilled artichoke with a wonderful sauce. They said the sauce was bacon, garlic, and olive oil based. Very yummy. We had crab cakes which had a citrus sauce and were also excellent. No bell peppers which made me a fan. The spring pea and asparagus soup was great, it was seasoned with mint which at first seemed overpowering but after a few spoons fit right in. My husband had the seared scallops which were on a mousse of pureed carrots and ginger. I wanted to order one of the carrot mousse's for dessert. It was fantastic. I had the seabass on a potato tortilla (Argentine style). The fish was excellent.
For dessert I had the panna cotta which had a olalliberry coullis, not overly heavy or sweet. My husband had port as the other two menu items didn't interest him.
The service was excellent. A great team approach.
The only negative, which turned out to be very funny, was when my husband pointed out that we had been listening to the same song on the sound system for 2 hours. The server went back and checked and found that someone had set the system for one song replay. We sang our own version of the song all the way home.
