I have opined previously that the croissant at Amandine on Wilshire west of Bundy are the best I've tasted in Los Angeles. But yesterday they outdid even their own standards. It was a bit lighter than usual in weight, darker in color. Very buttery, delicately crisp, nicely layered. A truly gorgeous, tasty wonderful croissant. (Only $1.50 to take out.) This made up for my last visit, when I got there fairly early and the regular croissant were sold out, and I had to make do with a mini. Yesterday's was the best I've tasted in decades, since I ordered croissant at Kelly's bakery in Santa Cruz.
