Had my second experience at 369 Shanghai Dim Sum (on Kennedy, just south of Highway 7, in a strip mall on the West side, chock full of Chinese eateries).
Have no reservations recommending this one (except perhaps that they don't take credit cards). Would highly recommend the following appetizers: kelp with ginger, garlic & chili pepper and stewed bamboo shoots. Both very unusual and totally delectable.
The restaurant's dim sum selection is awesome and you can have it at dinner, too. It is a nice way to try a variety of appetizer-sized portions, sort of like Chinese tapas. Can recommend steamed vegetarian dumplings (not your usual pork-filled Szechuan dumplings), green onion pie, Taiwanese-style fried rice noodles. Also, the stir-fried Chinese broccoli is done just right, with a hint of crispness.
The place was packed both Saturdays we went, but they do take reservations. Service is efficient.
For Chinese desserts, try Sweet Delight opposite.
