My wife and I had a fabulous meal here on our last night in Paris last Friday (3-10). We showed up about 8:00. They have an extensive wine list. However, they were featuring wines from St. Martin de la Garrigue. As soon as we were seated a man (not waiter) arrived at our table asking if we would like to try the white. He poured a taste for both of us (not a whole glass... just a taste). It turned out he was the wine maker. I work at a wine shop so we had a lot to chat about. Anyway... the food... I started with six escargot and my wife had the beat green salad. Both were not overly sauced or dressed. Both very good. We both had the lamb chops. Perfectly cooked! Served Provencal style with roasted vegetables and just a little (very little) jus. Desert was a Rhum'ba and a 1974 Armanac. Again, perfect. The staff was extremely friendly! I speak ten words of French but my wife is pretty good and can handle most conversations with confidence. However, it seemed everyone wanted to speak English. Fine by me. The owner was exceptionally attentive. By 9:30 the place was packed... not a seat to be had. In summary, all things considered (food, ambiance, cost, wine pairing, staff), this was the best meal we had in Paris!
