Friends sent me a copy from The State - Columbia's newspaper. But, she actually writes the food column for the Charlotte Observer. The woman knows her stuff.
Very, very few people know this about Sweatman's - Several times a week they have to go out in search of wood to fuel their pits. It's one of the reasons we were told they are only open three days a week. Got the story directly from the pit cookers when we were there.
