I know Grand Szechuan is new on the Upper East Side but I haven't heard any reports on it so I wanted to write about my experience there last night. In one word: excellent. The restaurant was pretty empty when we first arrived (around 730) but filled a little more as the meal went on. Service was very attentive - we had a waiter who was willing to give recommendations and thoughts based on our likes/dislikes. We ate the cold noodles in sesame vinaigrette, cumin lamb, and a chicken dish (cannot remember the details). All around a really great meal. Anyone else been there? The menu is huge so I'm looking for other recommendations on dishes to order.
