Good Mexican in St. Louis

I'll be the first to admit I haven't tried all the various spots around St. Louis for great and near authentic Mexican food. With that said, I'm going to put down a positive comment for a favorite of mine near our neighborhood of Webster Groves, and that is for Nacho Mama's on Manchester Road.

I had dinner again last night at Nacho Mama's and it might have been the best I've had over the years. I ordered the Tex Mex Platter, which comes with several items. The beans are tasty, the chicken well grilled on the enchilada and the cabbage on the taco?? is so more near authentic Mexican. As usual the margaritas are always tasty and served in a nice tall glass, either frozen or on the rocks (my preference).

While the much more well known Hacienda is just down the street, I tired years ago from their overcooked sides of rice and beans which surrounded an always-average entree. What keeps me away from Hacienda these days is the fact that when enjoying a margarita on the outside patio, they insist on serving it in a plastic glass. I'm old enough not to drop my drink thank you.

My wife prefers the enchilada plate with a spinach and chicken enchilada. My neighbor prefers the half of a chicken which is grilled and very tasty.

So give Nacho Mama's a try.

Chuey's is closed in Dogtown right? But it moved elswhere?
