Good Indian in Worcester, of all places

We were in Worcester Mass last weekend visiting family,
and went to a neighborhood Indian restaurant, House
of India at 439 Park Ave. Walking in my hopes wer not
high. It ws deserted and sort of dim looking, though
the smalls were good. The food was very good, at
times rising to excellent. Most outstanding were the
appetizers -- dahi poori, a melange of lentil
chips (homemade, not broken up papadums), pootatoes and
chick peas topped with some very creamy yoghurt and
them tamarind chutney. Even better were the paneer
pakoras, homemade cheese stuffed with chile and
cilantro, and fired in a chick pea batter. The mains
were very good to, as were the breads. Certainly worth
checking out if you are in town.
