A few years ago I spent a week in Rogers City. I went for the solitude. One of the the
regular 'Hounds mentioned Rygwelski's IGA as making good brats and kielbasa. The
recommendation was dead-on.
I liked them so much that I bought a large cooler and filled it. That supply was exhausted
~one year ago. Sigh. I've tried the various tube steaks made in metro-Detroit. They were
merely good, not great.
Yesterday I got a call from good friends. They remembered the brats that everyone raved
over at a cookout ... had something to-do with Rogers City. They were driving thru Rogers
City ... asked a few questions and were directed to R's.
Yesterday, noon-ish, they called. Said that they were bringing me a surprise from Rogers
City. What else could it be? I was thrilled.
Their care package was one pkg of four [yes, 4] brats and one pkg of four [count'm 4]
kielbasa. I certainly appreciate the thought ... but they aren't get promoted to "great
friend" status with that particular tube steak tease.
