Good dinner at Vietnam House

I just wanted to report my great, incredibly affordable dinner I had at the Vietnam House last night. It is on Las Tunas Drive in San Gabriel, owned by the same owners as Golden Deli.

We ordered one order of 7 course beef, an appetizer of bi cuon (fried spring rolls), and banh xeo (Vietnamese crepes). It was more than enough food for 2 people because it came with a gigantic pile of greens and herbs, as well as a plate of rice paper (which were not very well soaked and had a still crispy corner).

Anyway, the 7 course beef was great. The beef was very well seasoned and seemed of good quality, for the price (less than $12). They gave you 3 pieces for each course, which was more than enough to satiate my husband and I. The spring rolls were nice and crispy, and, although I thought the banh xeo was too greasy and not seasoned enough, my husband loved it and ate virtually everything on the plate.

It was clean and a bit too well lit, typical of most Asian restaurant. It was very busy, despite the fact we arrived an hour before closing. And for less than $25 including tip and tax, and even one beer, it was the best bargain we've encountered in a while. I will definitely be back.
