Really good Chinese Counter (Cafeteria style)

I haven't seen any posts about it, but I wanted to share one place I've been going to often (as a poor college student) to get my Chinese food. It's called Kang Kang food court on Garfield and Valley (northeast corner) in Alhambra. They have a great three-dish combo with rice and soup for $3.93. Some of the items have included a whole fish (as one item!), a pork rump/hock? (ti pang), preserved vegetable with pork (mei gan cai kou rou), and other authentic dishes. They also have an extensive menu for ordering, with excellent pan fried bao (seng jian bao- excuse my pinyin), along with other taiwanese, northern chinese, shanghainese, and southern/hong kong specialties. To top it off, they have a full selection of boba drinks (smoothies, teas, etc.) and Taiwanese shaved ice. It's not haute cuisine, but they do have two big screens and generally show Lakers games as well. It's a pretty good place to pick up some food if, like me, you haven't got hundreds of dollars per head to spare at Spago's.
