The Gold Room on Lapalco

The Gold Room on Lapalco is excellent! Very new, yesterday being their grand opening but they actually opened in October.

We were the only white couple in the place but this is not a soul food restaurant. And it's also a little fancier than a plain neighborhood restaurant would be.

We had a VERY good dinner last night. I had the Crab and Corn Bisque. Frank and I split the Chef Salad, the BBQ Shrimp and the Rack of Lamb, which was served much more elegantly than I would have expected.

They're not in the phone book and I did not get the address because we took a menu, which I can't locate, but they're about 8 blocks towards the Harvey Canal from the intersection of Barataria and Lapalco.

The house was full and everything we saw passing by for other tables looked fantastic. We will definitely try The Gold Room a few more times.
