I've made my way to Charleston 3 times over the past few months and each time I've visited this charming little cheese shop at 106 Church St. and have been wow'ed. 'Hounds need to know about this place.
My most recent visit was last week and Patty, Trudi and Mike did not disappoint. We were headed to the beach for a week and decided to swing by goat.sheep.cow for a few cheeses and some charcuterie and whatever other treats Patty had in mind. They had us taste many different cheeses and we settled on a goat - Fleur Verte, a sheep - Breibirousse Dargental, a cow - aged Comte and a wild boar salami. Oh, and a lovely crumbed baguette and goat milk caramels. Words fail me to describe the yumminess. We had to return a few days later for more cheese and 6 bottles of a hard-to-find Quintarelli white wine blend.
The folks that own this place are charming, generous and a joy to chat with. They know their wine and cheese and they have great breads, olives, olive oil (love this stuff), mustards, etc. The store itself looks like something out of a small town Europe. They make the most beautiful catering platters and I think they were recently mentioned Garden & Gun. Now, if only I can convince them to open a store in Charlotte. :)
Go. here. now.
