After nearly three years away, I'm excited to visit my old haunts and discover new ones on a New York trip in a few weeks. One problem -- I've recently been diagnosed with celiac disease and have to avoid gluten. I'm also not great with eggs -- I'm fine if they're used in something, but can't order an omelette.
So -- any thoughts on places to eat? Extra points for:
-Places on the Upper East Side, Williamsburg, and Astoria, as that's where most of my friends live (*cross-posted to outer boroughs)
-Brunch (this will be near-impossible, I know. I *can* eat oats, if that helps)
-cheap eats (entrees under $20)
-restaurants/bars that offer interesting hard cider
