Went for lunch today with my family. I had been there once before years ago, but didn't really recall it. Today we walk in and there is a crowd there and everyone has cameras. We're told by the manager that one of the LA Kings was downstairs with the Stanley Cup. $10 for a pic. I'm not a huge hockey fan, so we passed, but we did see them carrying it out. Pretty cool. Looks much smaller in person.
So I had heard about their burgers being famous in the area, so I ordered the Bacon Pineburger. A 6oz (seemed much bigger) rectangular burger on French Bread with lettuce, tomato, onions and thousand island dressing. I also had a side order of onion rings and tasted my brother's chili. The Burger was truly wonderful. Definitely one of the top five or six burgers I've had that weren't specialty $5 burgers. Perfectly cooked medium rare. The bread was toasted and the dressing was underneath the lettuce, so the flavors melded, but the burger never got soggy. I was taken aback by the fact the burger doesn't come with fries, but at $6.95 hard to complain. The rings were nice and crispy and held together, but lacked flavor. A little pepper in the batter would have done wonders. The chili was very mild. Had decent flavor, but I needed some kick. MY brother liked it a lot (he hates spice).
Definitely worth the drive if in Ithaca and craving a burger/
