Okay, a friend of mine is coming into town for her birthday and has entrusted me with the task of plotting out the destinations. And what do I do? I turn to you, my fellow chowhounders.
So here are the parameters: She's looking to do a Thursday celebration that will begin with dinner for 6 at an inexpensive and reasonably priced restaurant in lower manhattan (preferably Soho, West Village, Nolita, LES, you get the idea...). She then hopes to venture no more than a couple of blocks to a bar where others will gather (probably max. 20 people). The bar should be relaxed, not too crowded, not too expensive, good music (how subjective can you get?), maybe with a back room or someplace where we could gather and not have to haggle to push tables together, etc.
So, what do you say? I look forward to your suggestions. Thanks a million trillion!
