Had a nice lunch today at Gallo's Grill in East LA. It is what can best be described as a casual Mexican steakhouse.
Had a very nice butterflied filet mignon, which comes with a quesadilla, chips + salsa, tortillas, and a choice of rice or beans. Not bad for $9.95 (take that, Sizzler!). There were several other types of steak on the menu at similar prices, the stuffed steak looked interesting.
Indoor and patio seating available, small parking lot adjacent and relatively available street parking nearby.
4533 Cesar Chavez Blvd.
(about 3 blocks east of the 710)
If you're still hungry afterwards, there's the raspados (mexican snow cone) place or the live chicken place around the corner.
