Gabriela's II is open

The new Gabriela's is open at Amsterdam and 75th, just one block south of the late lamented and much missed Mingala West.

The menu looks very similar to the one uptown (I am talking mexican for those who don't know it). With a few additions. There are four different fish tacos featured -- since I always found Gabriela's fish specials to be outstanding, this is good news. At $15 the price is high, but perhaps necessary for good fish or seafood. They also have papadzules, a Mayan almost precolumbian dish of tortillas dipped in green pumpkin seed sauce, but they mess with it by adding tomatillos. I also think they had a pozole verde, to complement the rojo from uptown.

I didn't try any of this yet -- just looked at the menu briefly while walking by. It was 5:30 on a friday evening and they were getting full already.

Please post if you try the place.
