Many of tthe bakeries in Montreal make a dense sheet cake that they top with berries or fruit before they bake it. One such bakery is on Victoria in Westmont between Sherbrooke and de Maisonneuve, but I don't remember the name of it. I'm in Pennsylvania, so I can't just stop by to ask. They also sell it at the German butcher shop/deli at Cote-Des-Neiges and Queen Victoria. I'd really appreicate it if someone could tell me what these cakes are called and, better yet, a recipe.
