A few months ago after a Laker game, was driving along Olympic Blvd and decided to stop by a Chinese place in Korea Town called Shin Peking Mandarin Restaurant.
One dish stood out, it was called "Fried Shrimp with Hot Sauce". The dish consisted shrimp peeled with tails off, battered and fried with a special sauce. The sauce seemed to be a brown sweet and sour type with garlic, green onions, and small red chili peppers. Never tasted anything like it.
I've been looking for it in the SF Valley at various Chinese places, but cannot seem to corner it. Does anyone know if this dish has another name?
A co-worker of mine says it might be a Korean Chinese thing that might be found in Korean owned Chinese Restaurants...Is thing common? I don't like driving to Korea Town
