I know that this is a chain and I ate several times at other locations but I thought this place is worth mentioning. 60% of their food here is actually better than decent rather than 5% at so many buffet places. Some are excellent IMO.
Some worthhy mentions:
-Sourdough bread: does not look like much but what I tasted was outstanding. Good outer crust that is crackling and soft inside. This alone is worth the visit. Maybe it was fresh off the oven but it was mighty good. Great with the accompanied honey butter. I could eat lots of those breads for sure.
-One of the mexican soups there is really great. Probably tomato based with interesting spices. The others are not so great.
-Edible cheese pizzas. I actually came back for seconds.
-Good brownies, nice and moist.
-Salad has many good varieties and fresh-the usual offerings. Dressing is good especially the honey mustard. Get the spicy chicken pieces in the little cups.
-Even the ice cream and the cones are acceptable here.
The food does not look like much but the taste here is great and I would not hesitate going back for sure. None of the food there were bad-all are passable. Even their spaghetti meatball sauce is allright.
JJ North ar Southland Mall was also ok for the breakfast buffet although their lunch is not that great IMO.
Any other finds in this neighborhood ?
