Please forgive the odd query, but for anyone old enough to remember, they may be able to help me.
When I was a wee thing in 1977 I went to French restaurant in central London, not sure where, but the image of it is unforgettable and it is driving me insane!
It was situated in a Georgian home and above the doorway, outside, was a large cage with parrots and a peacock, I believe, all sorts of exotic birds. Inside, I sat in an armchair in the the front parlour, had an aperitif and ordered, then moved into the restaurant for my meal, which was duck, I believe. Anyway, it was a sumptuous experience and obviously the restaurant is long gone, but if anyone has a clue of what I'm talking about, I'd love to know the name of the place and where it was.
