My family and I have been rating onion soup on a scale of 1-10 (ten the best!) for over 25 years....
We hit a near perfect 10 at the Paris in Vegas last year.
Just perfect...the broth was not to salty, to much bread (not stale)and the cheese was perfectly melted.
Not sure if the Paris Cafe still exists, but my memory of it will be forever.
How about NYC...
I stumbled upon the Knickerbocker last Sunday and i have to say it could be the best in the city unless you can tell me otherwise.
The broth was not to salty,flavorful not to beefy, just enough bread that did not soak up all the soup
that i could not get enough of! The cheese was nice, not overpowering. lovely. and sitting at the bar having a beer, people watching and watching the game all at the same time. perfect.
By the way, the Red Lion in West Stockbridge is perfect too.
