Being a single type on a budget, I've learned to look for ways to maximize my dining dollars.
For example, I'm happy to grab a to-go $8 dish from certain XYZ restaurants because the portion is so huge that I'll get 2-3 meals from the leftovers.
But most of these meals I wouldn't freeze. In fact, most leftover meals I can stretch to the next day or two probably wouldn't be very nice if one froze it.
So here's my challenge:
Poffer dishes one can buy at a professional place that one can impound in a freezer and find it still tastes reasonably good when thawed. The Chasens Chile thread helped prompt this... but so did my earlier request to find good refried beans, which I found thanks to posters. The thing is, I bought too much and am not sure what can be frozen. Some foods freeze well. Others don't. I'll agree that freeezing is never the best option, but for the active types who occasionaly would rather a quich fix, rather than a dish prepped from scratch, what do you think?
