Franklin Southie in our opinion has never come up to the food level of Franklin in the South End but the atmosphere is pleasant and the bartenders are very likeable. Our recent experiences, however, have been a disaster. The last two times we have been the food has been much too salty. We commented on it two weeks ago but suffered through the meal. Last night iit was so bad we sent the food back (duck confit and cajun mac and cheese). Also an indication of how they have gone downhill was the bread, which has always been good, was so stale it was hard and not edible (did not bother asking for a replacement).
We have been regular customers since they opened but will not return until we hear some comments that they have improved.
