This is a great restaurant. Lovely building (ranch house/lodge, upscale feel, in a pasture overlooking a large pond). Food to die for. We had the seared divers scallops with sauteed arugula and tarragon brown butter and the New Orleans style BBQ shrimp--both fabulous.
Our entrees were the 26oz. bone-in ribeye with brandy peppercorn sauce, and sugar-cured pork chops with potatoes and mango sauce. I would go back for the brandy peppercorn sauce alone. Wow. Great steak, too. Service was lovely. I had the creamed spinach, and would try something else next time.
I got the New Orleans style bread pudding to go (we drove 3 hours to get to the restaurant, and spent the night in Terrell) and it was great.
The website is at www.fourwindssteakhouse.com. (It has a very wide page, so you might need to scroll to the right to see the menu link.) Phone is 903-873-2225. I suggest reservations. We went early on a Friday night and it was pretty full by 6:10PM.
Yes, this is in the middle of nowhere, but worth the trip. It's on FM47 a little north of IH 20 (there's an exit off IH 20), but south of US 80. It's about 48 miles east of Dallas.
