ok, so i just got home from the fm and i was wondering what people's favorite food vendors are. i got the eggplant veggie gyro at the stall that is closest to grand st., and it was good, but nothing to write home about (and they charge $6 for it!). anyway, the eggplant was good but very oily, so much that the pita couldn't take it and broke apart (granted it had tabouleh in it, a decent hunk of feta, some roasted tomatoes i think as well as raw tomatoes, a pepporcini, etc. so it was pretty loaded). but yeah my mouth felt like it was swimming in olive oil, and i love oo! has anyone tried this vendor, and if so what do they like there? i know i hit it up once or twice last summer, but can't remember what i had. now that i think of it, i think it's the only stall ive bought food from. most of the stuff at the other vendors looks pretty good, but it's food you can get basically anywhere imo. the agua fresca stand looks good too, and i always want to try a couple (the hibiscus comes to mind), but the line was so long today when i passed by. i also picked up this raspberry crumb thing from this german baker stand that looked promising, especially since german bakeries seem pretty nonexistent in LA. i tasted it and it is pretty dang good (have to go easy tho), and i look forward to trying some more things from there. let me know what you all think!
