Flor De Sol

Had dinner at Flor de Sol on Greenwich Street in Tribeca about a week and a half ago. Extremely disappointed. It's a tapas place and has an extensive menu which we only ordered two tapas from and two main dishes. The tapas were disappointing and not that flavorable. I had garlic shrimp which our server recommended but it was tasteless and the shrimp was overcooked.

We ordered sangria--I ordered the traditional red and my companion ordered the "tropical." Both were sour and clearly had not been allowed to sit overnight with cut fruit in them.

As for our main dishes, I ordered the seafood risotto which was the worst risotto I've ever had. The rice was both too dry and soupy (dry on the top, soupy on the bottom). The seafood was just piled on top of it. I don't think it was was even cooked with the rice, so it was really a seafood and rice dish and not risotto.

My dinner companion had a shell steak with mushrooms which was o.k. but really nothing to write home about.

To top it off, the place is SO dark (think midevil castle) that you'll have trouble seeing what's in front of you.

We won't be going back.
