Best Fish Sandwich in the World

We're new to the Chowhound community and wanted to share the locale for the best fish sandwich we're ever had.

It's served at a place called Gordo's on Shilshole Ave. in Seattle (Ballard neighborhood). It's a family run joint open for 27+ yrs. They have a few picnic tables outside or head @1/2 mile north on shilshole to Golden Gardens, a beautiful beach overlooking Puget Sound and the Olympics.

The sandwich: Two large pieces of perfect battered, buttery fish, served on an egg seeded bun with lettuce, tartar, tomato, and cheese (i know, the cheese seems out of place but it works and it works well). The price seems high (@$4.50) but this baby is worth every penny and damn filling.

we typically wash it down with a fresh blackberry shake and perfectly cooked fries (soft inside, crispy outside). life is good.
