Best fine dining restaurant for lunch?

So where would you go for the best dining experience for a great mid day lunch? Not too many of the "fine dining" institutions serve lunch. I see Fearing's, the Mansion at Rose, and Stephan Pyles do. However, their menus all seem to be watered down and not very inspiring. Fearing's seems to be the most interesting lunch menu of the three. But we are not looking for salads or sandwiches. We are looking for plated entrees.

Do you think if I gave one of these restaurants advanced notice that they would perhaps allow us to order from the dinner menu? I could not see why not. I mean these are supposed to be upscale establishments and I know they pride themselves on service. I recently traveled to New Orleans and did this at Emeril's restaurant. Called, asked if I could order off the dinner menu during lunch, and the request was honored.
