Where to find local palate

Christina Hansen | Aug 26, 2002 09:28 AM

I've been reading the posts about trying to find local palate. We have had a hard time keeping up with the demand. We come out bimonthly and they typically get picked up within a week of distribution at our 300+ locations. We currently print 23,000 copies and continue to add more with each printing. Distribution for the Sept-Oct issue is in progress now and will be completed by this Wednesday. Here is a list of some of our biggest drop points:

Sam's, all the Whole Foods (except Deerfield), Foodstuffs, Piece, Cyd & D'Pano's, Fox & Obel, Foodlife (Water Tower), Borders, Intelligentsia, Binny's, Hyde Park Co-Op, Heartland cafe (Rogers Park), Books a Million, Cultural Centers (Randolph and Pearson, Pompeii (both locations), Penny's Noodle Shop (all locations).

Also at a myriad of food and related shops, like Dinner at Eight in Wilmette, Fish Guy on Elston, Bittersweet Bakery, Dubby's on Division. We try to add new spots each time.

We are free. Subscriptions are $24 a year. There is also a joint subscription available with Chicago Cooks ( for $30.

Please call us 773-472-8277 or email at if you have any questions or have difficulty finding a copy.
