Husband and I found ourselves out and about today around dinner time, so decided to check out Luna Park (672 S. La Brea). We're up in that neck of the woods every Sunday morning, but Luna Park doesn't open until 11am so we've continually missed it.
Inside is dark and cozy, it took a bit for our eyes to adjust. The dish of salt and pepper they bring out with the bread resembled pesto and parmesean since we could hardly see, but we quickly discovered their true nature.
I had a NA mojito, which was chockfull of fresh mint and limes. Husband had the mix-your-own Dr Pepper, vanilla syrup, and vanilla vodka drink. He had a blast with that!
We started with the goat cheese fondue, which was nice. Good presentation and I liked the toasted bread. We shared a bowl of their spiced parsnip soup and the brisket dinner. I liked the soup quite a bit, it was smooth, and I don't think I've ever actually had parsnip before. The brisket was sooo tender, and the chambord sauce fit perfectly. The potatoes were so-so, but I liked the warm beets with it. I also didn't really care for the coleslaw, but husband liked it.
All in all we had a great time, and will definately brave the traffic to go back again.
