Finally! A decent place to eat on the Upper East Side

Went to the Dining Room (E 79th St) for dinner last night and had a terrific meal. It is the same chef as The Screening Room, which I wasn't terribly impressed with on my one and only visit.

Started with pan fried artichokes with parmesan--heavenly, and had a crispy-skinned on outside, perfectly med-rare on inside salmon with a delightful cauliflower sauce. My sister had the red snapper, which was also great.

Pricey wine list, though they did have a decent variety of 1/2 bottles. If you find yourself in the 'hood give it a shot!
