Traveling in to the Mission this weekend for a friends birthday bash and meeting up with another friend who I haven't seen in ages beforehand. There will be 3 of us, we are all fairly adventurous eaters (I am the only one who has had Peruvian before) and 2 of us are students (not TOO broke, but not rollin' in it either).
To my question, we will be ending up at Levende Lounge which is at 1710 Mission. We are fine w/ walking, busing etc. but would like to stay in the Mission I would like to know of any good Latin (anything from Peruvian, Mexican, Salvadoran etc.) places that are a step up from a taco shop (we will be dressed to go to a "lounge" whatever that means) but somewhere that isn't too pricey either. Limon seems like it is worth the trip, and the menu looks yummy, but want to know if it is worth the extra price tag.
Also, what is the inside like at Estampas? Are there tablecloths, or is it less formal than that?
We are not married to either place and will take recommendations for anything! Keys are good food and good prices for what you get!
Thanks for the tips in advance!
