One Fifty Ate Bakeshop

As a new arrival from NYC, I'm really enjoying sniffing out the chowhoundish spots in Portland. One Fifty Ate Bakeshop in South Portland is a truly delightful little spot. Their bagels are outstanding. I'm not sure where exactly they fall on the "authentic" scale (back in New York people get all up in arms about such things) but they're clearly made with love, rather oversized and a bit misshapen, with a great crunch and a satisfying chewiness. The Everything Bagel tasted terrific, sprinkled with the usual topings and some extras, including fennel seeds. Not too much salt (which for some might mean not enough salt) - really great. The bread and cinammon rolls are also divine. I tried the bread at The Blue Spoon restaurant, and I like it better than what I've had, so far, at Standard Baking (not to say that SB is shabby or anything).
