So the wife and I had a pretty eventful and exciting weekend of sour beer tasting. We enjoyed the following:
1) Petrus Aged Pale Ale
2) Boon Oude Geuze
3) Monk's Flemish Sour Ale
4) Russian River Temptation
5) BFM Abbaye De Saint Bon-Chien
1 and 2 were the most Brut Champagne like with some yeast and bone dry. 3 was vinegary and cola like with white peppercorns. 5 was similar to 3 with more charm and restraint depite being 11% abv. Our favorite was 4 the Russian River Temptation. Stupendous nose with similar taste. Subtle use of oak. A real gem.
So what's you favorite sour right now?
