Faidley's Crab Cake - Fried v. Broiled?

KOK | Oct 19, 2004 04:53 PM

I had the lump crab cake at Faidley's Saturday and while it was pretty good, it didn't seem to hold up to my years ago memory of it, or the posts I've read here about it. I had it fried (didn't even think about asking and then saw the sign for broiled (.50 more).

While it seems unlikely, could there be a difference in the cakes they fry and the ones they broil? I'd think they just pick up the next available cake and either fry it or broil it. And NOT to start the heated debate again, but Sunday I had the G & M crab cake and for $2 less, I got a substantially bigger cake with more lump meat. I know in the past I've posted that I've had good luck in the carryout side of G & M, and maybe I just had bad luck at Faidley's. Again, it wasn't bad, but it didn't have lump meat I remembered or expected from posts here.

On the plus side, the candy store on the other side of the market had squirrel nut zippers!!

Thanks,

K
