My mission is to take a foodie friend out for a special-event birthday dinner in Seattle. I'm looking for a novel and unusual experience combined with great food and wine.
What kind of experience? Something like Elemental@Gasworks would possibly work...a soup nazi chef and no choice in wine. The place got lousy reviews on here, so strike that, but that's one example. Going to a Gypsy dinner (which unfortunately I know nothing about) would be ideal. I'd consider setting up some sort of formal dinner with friends out in the woods somewhere, but I don't want to depend on the weather.
See where I'm going with this? Mystery, stangeness, the unexpected. Something pretty darn unusual. Dive joints are fine, as long as they're interesting and the food is delicious.
All suggestions appreciated! Thanks.
