feel foolish to have only discovered this place today as it has been opened for 5 years not 35 miles from my house...but here you have it: Ma's Apple Pie Bakery. Lots of pies (local blackberry, both open face and two crust) , excellent cookies and macaroons and bread (buttermilk, raisin and apple, sun flower crunch etc.) all made in a little cube of a building on rt 7 on a triangle of land just as you enter old Leesburg. DO NOT SKIP IT.
The part that delighted me most of all: she sells bags of sugar scraps -- left over pie dough sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar and baked just like your mom did, if you did not get a lemon (for a mother, that is, not a lemon fruit).
Everything made in house, everything made with no preservatives. all pronounceable ingredients.
a delighted and newly fat, pam
