A small group of us South Loopers are planning to organise an expedition to the north for an Ethiopian meal. It's been too many years since I've been to any of the Ethiopian restaurants here to fall back on my own experience and a search of Chowhound archives gave only limited results.
I gather that up in Rogers Park, Ras Dashen is good and at least one writer preferred it to Ethiopian Diamond. I believe there are, however, also some places further south (Wrigleyville), which would be a bit easier to get to.
Any opinions on the relative merits of Chicago's Ethiopian restaurants would be most welcome. Please note too that while convenience of location is a factor, it is a factor of only secondary importance: if the indisputably best chow be further away, thither we shall go. Thanks in advance for any help in this regard.
