Just started making them, The recipe that came with the rings turned out horrible, hockey pucks for sure.
I've now started using the Alton Brown recipe which I find to be pretty good. It is a bit messy in some ways as the batter is very tacky, but so far they come out very good.
Anyone have a tried and true other recipe? His is a batter where others seem to more of a dough. He did a FN show on his, but I missed it.
