Had the regular (not the Restaurant Week) lunch today.

Summary: Very good food. Mediocre service.

SPACE:
Airy and terrific. (The booths are the place to sit, BTW.)

MENU:
Lunch does NOT have the "all you can eat" feature. But it's still a great menu. You get one of every appetizer. And you chose one of a nice variety of dishes. All for $29

FOOD:
Most of the apps were great. One (the mozz and tomatoes) was only OK. The fried calamari were fishy and bad. Then, we each had a pasta. Both were excellent. The bread basket (when it finally came) was excellent too (two breads, both warm). The flourless chocolate cake was superb.

SERVICE:
We struck out here. Got the angry 20 year old MTV skateboarding type dude. He forgot the bread. (Another waiter happened to come over and happened to offer some.) And he refused to switch the side of sorbet (which comes with the cake) from chocolate to vanilla.

Two prix fixe + bottle of water + 1 dessert + 1 coffee + 15% tip = $85.00. Well worth it, IMHO.

Note: The maitre d' who answered the phone played hard to get. ("No, 1:00 PM doesn't work, how about...") But we came early and got seated right away in a 60% full restaurant. So don't be shy to just walk in.
