El Boqueron, Astoria Review

I have eaten several times at El Boqueron and each time is better than the last. I eat there 2 times a month. First thing is order a pitcher of sangria (red or white!) it is very good. They have a nice selection of tapas which of which I have sampled almost all. Some of my favs are the chorizo, shrimp in garlic sauce & filet mignon verde. Any of the tapas can be ordered as a meal as well. The service is impecable! The very friendly staff changes plates and utensils quite frequently while you sample the tapas. The entrees are excellent as well... the seafood is always fresh & cooked to perfection. Lobster cooked to order is almost always available. But as my girlfriend always says... SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT!! They truly finish the dining experience w/ an amazing dessert. The mocha flan is great or try my fav Torrejas. My g/f sticks w/ the savignon w/ fresh strawberries. But best of all is the always professional, and beyond courteous staff. Who will explain the menu and answer any questions you have reguarding the menu. Fri & Sat nites are usually crowed so arrive early or have just enjoy a cocktail at the bar while you wait for a table. :)
