Ed & Eddies Ice Cream in Tampa... Spectacular!

Mild Bill | Mar 22, 2005 12:04 AM

Two locations... South Dale Mabry near Bay to Bay, and Anderson Road, in the Veterans 24 Cinema complex...

The first time I popped in I asked for a double scoop of Cookies and Cream in a cup with a lil' marshmellow sauce and whipped cream...
I sat in my truck with this big thing...

I took a few bites, stared at it, and said; "Holy S***!"

Soon I went back...

The Cafe Mocha is a mind blower... Probably their best I've tried so far... Fierce coffee flavor with flakes of dark chocolate throughout that melt in your mouth... Not too sweet...

The Toasted Coconut is loaded with flavor, with lots of shredded toasted coconut...
Flavor volume is turned way up... It's really creamy and delicious, although "a little" too sweet... Not much tho... It's their only flavor that I thought was too sweet...

Their Strawberry is perfection, with some whipped cream added... Don't get no better!
This blew me away... Every bite was heaven...

They have a low carb Mint... Magnificent... Creamy and smooth with no "previously mandatory" chocolate chips...

The Cookies and Cream is the best I've ever had, great with whipped cream...

Rich and creamy... all of it...

We're very lucky in Tampa... I think these are the only two locations in the country...
Support them! They're certainly doing their part!

If you're on your way visiting a friend, bring a quart of Cafe Mocha!
You'll kill people!

The only Ice Cream I've had that was near this caliber was in Buenos Aires, where my wife is from... It's big business there, with a place on every corner... All homemade...

She's never been impressed with American ice cream shop ice cream till now...

I'm sure there are other good places, I just wanted to shout loud about this one...
I'm slowly working my way thru their extensive and interesting list of flavors...

Magic stuff so far!

Believe it or not, I haven't tried any of their chocolate variations yet...

Next visit...
