Ecola Seafoods in Cannon Beach, Oregon - Great Chowder!

This is a seafood market with a take-away menu a block off of Cannon Beach's main drag. Most of the menu is seafood plates with fries and slaw with many specials depending on the day's catch. The market itself sells fresh crab, salmon, scallops, etc. for you to take back for dinner.

While any of the lunch items are fresher and cheaper than in any of the seafood restaurants along that section of the Coast, our favorite is the chowder. It's packed with clams and made with small bits of carrot, celery and onion in a light cream base. When we're in Cannon Beach these days, we find excuses to duck in for a cup even if we just had lunch someplace else.

The address is 208 N. Spruce. It's a block inland from the Woodside (that log cabin restaurant) in the middle of Cannon Beach and is across the street from the visitors center.
