Durham area: Need recs for Sun night dinner

Hi,
We'll be spending the night in the Durham area en route from Atlanta to DC this Sunday night. I'm trying to nail down where we'll have dinner before making the hotel/motel res. Chapel Hill or Carrboro could work for us as well as Durham. I think Raleigh is too far off our route. It looks like many of the places I knew about are closed Sunday. I should mention that my husband will be coming off two brutally long plane trips (18 or 19 hours)almost back to back. The restoration effort will begin by staying in Atlanta overnight and eating at the very good Woodfire Grill. In the Durham area, we'd like something similarly delicious, decent but affordable (say $26-36) wines, not Asian ethnic this time and probably not latin. Not a loud place either. The last clinker is that he really doesn't care for "down-home" southern although we've had lovely meals in places like the Highland Grill in Birmingham. We like new American, especially California influenced, newer French, as opposed to bistro, non-fried fin fish, basically chef-driven restaurants. Oh, and price? Maybe a max of $130-150 before tip.
I apologize for the length. Are there places that could help his recovery?
Many thanks. Laura, the worried wife
