We went down to the home show yesterday afternoon and then were trying to decide where to go for dinner. It's a very rare friday night when we're downtown so we decided to try Durants - we hear so much about it, not just here but from just about everyone we know. We called around 6:45 and they said they could get us a table at 7:45 so we headed over.
We were early and so lucked into a couple seats at the very very busy bar! Wow this place was jumping. The bartender made me a most delicious mojito and we happily passed our time people watching and watching the obviously well skilled bartenders.
Dinner was delicious. Sometimes with places where you hear so much you end up let down due to expectations but we really enjoyed our meal. Husband had a NY Strip cooked perfectly MR and I had the halibut and let the server talk me into having it Oscar style. The hollandaise was very nice - light and lemony. LOTS of crab. You definitely cannot complain about the portions here...we both brought at least half home. I had a glass of wine, husband had a bottle of Pellegrino and with this the meal was $104 before tip.
Everything about Durants is what its promised to be. If you haven't been, try it out - like us I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
