dried garbanzo / chick pea yields (and other dried beans)

I am working with dried garbanzos (and also canelli beans) and am curious what people experience has been with regard to yields.

Online research for garbanzos has provided me with confusion:

--1 cup of dried beans will yield about 2 1/2 cups cooked (1:2.5)

--1 cup of dried chickpeas will yield 3 cups of cooked (1:3)

--Each cup of dried beans makes about 2 to 21/2 cups of cooked beans (1:2 - 1:2.5)

Considering the 50% variance, I thought I would seek out actual user experiences. I love me some chick peas, but I see no point in making much more than I actually need.

The canellis are already soaking, but I'm wondering the same thing ... what ratio have you come to expect?

Thanks!
