My wife and I are moving back to the city, both love all food big and small, and are toying with the idea of setting a weekly food budget so as not to get out of control. I'll be making six figures after taxes, but won't be making it forever and have debts etc. What, in your opinion, would be a reasonable weekly food budget for two food addicts (including modest alcohol consumption)? We both deeply enjoying cooking and quality dives.
We want to fully enjoy the city's food, but the DIFFERENCE between eating very conservatively (100$ per week for two) and rather luxuriously (say $500 per week for two), comes to $20,800 over a year.
I'd appreciate any thoughts and tips.
