I'm organizing an event* at 10th & Washington in October, and I'd like to be able to give a good variety of recommendations for quick (not 'fast') food within 2-3 blocks of there. (I used to work in City Center, but that was a decade ago, and a whole lot has changed since then.) Eating time will probably be limited, so I'm looking for take-out rather than sit-down type food; reasonably priced is, of course, preferable.
Here's what I know so far:
* Pacific Coast Brewing is across the street (haven't had their food in ages, don't recall being either overwhelmed or contrawhelmed, but it's really all about the beer anyway);
* Mi Rancho, sadly, is gone;
* There is banh mi in Chinatown (I read the thread further down, so I'll check those recs out; I also tried a place on Franklin (I think) between 9th and 10th that was okay but not as good as the place on Larkin in the City).
Not too much to go on, but there does seem to be a lot more in the area than there was 10 years ago. What do y'all recommend?
Thanks in advance,
*It's a board game tournament. If any of you play Diplomacy, you should come.
